I recently got my machine which is great. I now have the flu with severe congestion. My machine has a built in heated humidifier and I use a nose mask. The problem is I can't breathe right now at all.Any suggestions. I am using afrin and an oral decongestant.I need some sleep to get better.I need sme help on this.

Try, try to get a full face maskfrom your DME quickly, if at all possible -- one that covers both your nose and mouth (not completely over your whole face). If you did not need it immediately, you could buy it online. Check this forum for which one to get. They vary in comfort/leaks.

I sympathize, I too have been sick as a dog an unable to use my machine.Between the coughing sneezing and congestion I don't know which is worse. My husband went out and got me breathe right strips seems to help a little.

I have not been sick since starting treatment but how about trying the old fashioned Vicks? It always works for me...

The manual which comes with the Remstar Auto indicates that under certain circumstances, therapy may need to be discontinued temporarily during a cold.

If your nose is stuffed, all one can do is try to unstuff it, as you have tried to do.
Trying is the first step towards failure.
