I currently have obstructive and central sleep apnea and am a 34yo male with crohns disease. Right now I'm using the ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV. I'm mainly having compliance issues and did use this site to get 100% clear about what most insurance covers except I'm on disability and have been told I can not miss a single night! I know 4 hours isn't asking much but with my medical history and crohns it can be hard to sleep at all one night (or end up going to sleep early morning but after 8am and the cut off is 12pm). My main concern is it will be viewed non'-compliance and I'm struggling to do my best. The machine I have has been in my possession for less than 3 months and it is saving my life! I have had 3 sleep studys and on average all 3 showed 64 events per hour and using the my air app I saw it was closer to 80+ when I started treatment * which was with the standard cpap machine. It took months to finally get this ASV and I could use any advice on what to do with telling medicade and the people who supply the machine. It might also be wonderful if someone knows the best place to just purchase an ASV bi-pap that is priced low and has fast shipping abs reliable. ANY tips would be greatly appreciated and I'm glad I found this group and wished I had found it sooner. I'm just so glad after a year of waking up on the floor in random places in my house, crippling ADD , brushes and it was just hell. Thanks again

Exactly who told you that you "can't miss a single night"???KyleRem1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 10:29 amd have been told I can not miss a single night! I know 4 hours isn't asking much but with my medical history and crohns it can be hard to sleep at all
What do you consider priced low? ASV and cheap do NOT go together well at all.KyleRem1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 10:29 amif someone knows the best place to just purchase an ASV bi-pap that is priced low and has fast shipping abs reliable.
You might look at secondwindcpap.com and see if they have something.
BTW....the 4 hour minimum thing...that's within a 24 hour reporting period and it doesn't have to be necessarily at night and you can even "meet" any hours of use requirements while awake and using the mask and machine...like reading or watching TV. The machine (and no one else) will know if you were asleep or awake.
If you happen to be on Medicare....even Medicare doesn't require EVERY single night.

"compliance" is measured as the number of hours in a 24 hour period, it doesn't matter if those hours are 9am-12pm, because the 10pm-1am and 3am-5am the previous morning all count towards hours in that 24 hour period. The 24hour period just starts at noon, because most people are awake then. (certainly not all), there are plenty of night shift workers on CPAP, and that's taken into account, (obvious, if you think about it).KyleRem1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 10:29 amI know 4 hours isn't asking much but with my medical history and crohns it can be hard to sleep at all one night (or end up going to sleep early morning but after 8am and the cut off is 12pm).
