My BIPAP blows cold air on my nose

Post by ahm3187 » Fri May 06, 2022 11:40 am

Every time my room temperature drops to 68F, my bipap starts blowing cold air on my nose than i deal with flu like symptoms. I use a h4i heated humidifier. Sadly heated tube doesn't work with stellar 150 bipap

https://cpapsetc.com/products/hybernite ... rol-system

A stand alone heated hose system will help keep the air warmer. No control for temp...either on or off.
Hard to find in stock as well. Not sure why unless the company no longer exists.
Years ago before the heated hoses you could plug into the machine I actually used this product.

Otherwise you probably will need to increase the bedroom temp...or maybe a hose cozy would help but you are still dealing with in incoming hose air temp on the cool side of things and since your body is 98.6....it's going to feel cool.

Doesn't surprise me.

You have to either warm up the incoming air from your bedroom or use some sort of stand alone heated hose to warm up the air in the hose.

Or upgrade to a machine that has the integrated heated hose you could use....S9 models or higher.
Aren't you about due for a new machine anyway?

h4i heated humidifier.
I believe the H4i goes with the S8 model machines.
The S8 models were replaced with the S9 models in 2010.
I have no idea why you got such an old model in 2015.

At any rate I have no idea what all is involved in Canada and your province for getting a newer machine.
Sorry.

As far as I know it will work as long as the outlet for the long hose attachment is of standard size.
It supposedly will work on all machines. The heated hose part that attaches to the machine is a normal sized rubber attachment.
