Humidifier water

Post by KobeT » Wed Mar 09, 2022 7:08 pm

I don’t used all the water in my humidifier at night. I only use about 1/2 but most guides say to empty every day. I think that is unnecessary. Why do I have to empty out every day.

You don't - it's nonsense.

I only empty mine when I'm cleaning the humidifier chamber or moving my CPAP machine. Otherwise, I just keep topping it off.

I only empty my tank when it needs it--(showing evidence of rudimentary life.)
At that time, I clean the tank, rinse, and add a tablespoon of vodka
to kill whatever had started its icky village.

If you're using tap water, emptying it every day helps cut down on mineral buildup.

I've been lucky enough to have distilled water readily available.

Thanks. I will continue to tap off since I’m using distilled water.

They get kickbacks from Big Distilled.

Menard's here has distilled water; 3 gallons for $3.36.
I will send in for the 11% rebate.
Not enough to pay for the stamp--but I always find more stuff.
And I bought a lot of forever stamps--years ago.
(The distiller still works, but is presently unavailable.)
