I received an e-mail, and text alert, from my DME yesterday. They tell me that they now have a 'handful' of replacement BiPAP machines to dole out.

Our records indicate that you may have a Philips Respironics BiPAP machine affected by a nationwide recall. We have received word that we will be receiving a handful of replacement machines from Respironics in the next several weeks.**Note these are only BiPAP replacements**
Please note that the replacement machine will be the same model that you are currently using.
My DME tried this a while back when the DS2's first became available but I need a BiPAP machine, and I refused the DS2. As for the replacement being the same model as the one I'm currently using? I purchased a Resmed AirCurve 10 out of pocket (DME is aware of this). They're not going to replace that.
I signed up for an appointment. I have no idea what machine they're going to be using as replacements, I'll give em a call today and see if I can find out what's what.
I have two Philips BiPAP machines involved in the recall. A PR System One BiPAP and a Dreamstation BiPAP, both confirmed by Philips. MY DME tells me that I have to bring my machine with me and exchange it for the replacement. At the moment this correspondence is only talking about one of my recalled machines. I plan on brining the System One in for replacement. Again, Philips has confirmed that I have two machines involved in the recall.
Anyone know what's going on? Does Philips now have remediated BiPAPs available?

Re: DME now has Dreamstation BiPAP replacements?
I finally got around to calling my DME and finding out what's going on with the replacement BiPAP machines.
The DME claims that they have a supply of reworked DS BiPAPs available. If I want one, I'll have to swap out my two-year-old DS for the replacement. At this time only the DS is being replaced, not the PR System One. They are swapping out the blower/electronic section of the BiPAP, not the humidifier section. I have an appointment next week for the swap.

Re: DME now has Dreamstation BiPAP replacements?
I swapped out my original DS BiPAP for a 'new' reworked DS BiPAP at my DME's yesterday. I brought the entire machine in to them. They separated the main unit from the humidifier section, replaced the main unit with the one they had for me. Then removed the SD card from my old machine and used that for the 'new' machine. They inserted new filters and put the whole thing back together and placed it in my travel case and sent me on my way.
Once I got home, I closely inspected the new machine. It looks brand new and even had the cling sheet that protects the display. I accessed the clinician's menu to verify that the settings transferred, they did. Zero hours on the new machine. I let it run for a little while to help with dissipating the 'new' smell. I didn't use the DS last night as it's now a backup to my AirCurve 10 Vauto. I may give it a go though, just to see how it compares with the ResMed machine.
I still have my old PR System One BiPAP and it is on the recall list, verified by Phillips. My DME said that they will replace that as well once they find out how many 'extras' they have left after the first phase of replacements.
