Burping the ENTIRE Day

Hey Everyone,

5'8 Male, with 143lbs in weight. Diagnosed with Central Sleep Apnea not too long ago and started on ASV 6 weeks ago with a nasal mask. AHI has been consecutively < 2 and no leaks to be worried about. However, over the past 4 weeks, I have been burping NON-STOP. I will burp when I wake up and don't eat anything, after I eat, and even after I drink water throughout the ENTIRE day.

Most cases of CPAP aerophagia have people only burp after they wake up, so I'm curious if anyone has had burping from MORNING to NIGHT. Does this seem like a case of aerophagia to you? Are there any settings I should try playing around with? Or should I start to explore the possibility of GERD?

I would also look at your diet and ask your MD what they think is going on - could be something else, but hopefully has quit by now.

Thank you for responding! I've seen a GI doctor as this has been happening although my diet hasn't changed over the past 2 years. They said that they don't think its anything GI related, for now at least since my ONLY symptom is burping. However, my sleep doctor has not necessarily provided the response/reassurance I am looking for as to whether or not this is a normal problem.

Seems like burping ALL DAY (tasteless burps) is a pretty rate symptom on this sub?

Yes, I guess so - lots of talk re aerophagia and GERD, but the all day thing is different. LSAT's link should give lots of answers.

Definitely. Forgot to put my SD card back into the machine for the past two weeks so the data is a little bit limited, BUT hopefully this is somewhat helpful.
