Dreamstation replacement - louder?

Post by tjb1013 » Tue Dec 21, 2021 8:59 am

Received my Dreamstation 2 replacement.

Has anyone else who’s received one found that it is noticeably louder when operating? I’m wondering if my experience is psychosomatic.

The foam has probably been removed as per the recall, but why not get a Resmed Airsense 10 or 11 Auto - much better than Respironics from all that have done so.

I have the DS2 that replaced a DS1. I perceive the DS2 to be quieter than the DS1. My wife used to comment that she could hear the DS1 at night, but she hasn't mentioned hearing the DS2. There are a few things I don't care for with the DS2 (user interface for one), but it seems to deliver therapy better than the DS1 based on how I feel in the morning, O2 sat numbers with an O2Ring, and AHI numbers from DreamMapper.

Resmed is worth the extra money--ten times over. 8)
