Hi!
I've read that anything flagged as a central apnea probably isn't one if it follows an arousal.
In the examples I've seen the arousal is usual very evident (multiple erratic preceding breaths)
What about in the following case where there is a single large preceding breath/sigh?
Many thanks,
Paul
Should I discount this Central?
Re: Should I discount this Central?
I tend to discount those when I see a big breath preceding the flag.
Sometimes it's not always so easy and this is one of those times I think.
Either way though...not enough centrals to worry about even if they were for sure all real asleep centrals.
I would lean towards thinking maybe a big breath and the maybe turn over or change position in bed and hold your breath kind of thing.
Even if real...barely makes the 10 second duration requirement and we can hold our breath much longer and it not cause a problem.
So "iffy" in my book but I would lean towards arousal related.

Many thanks Pugsy.
I agree. Was too few to have any concern for them. Just curious that's all.
Thanks for your help.
