New AirMini and using my favorite mask?

Post by Rcers » Sun Nov 07, 2021 7:45 am

Been using cpap for 10 years,so I’m not new to cpap just new to this forum. Hello all!!
I just ordered a AirMini for motorcycle travel where space is a serious issue. From everything I’ve read you are very limited on masks that will work with the AirMini. I’ve also ordered a Zephair universal adapter that should allow me to use my favorite mask (Resmed Mirage FX). Besides being what I’m extremely comfortable with,my insurance company pays for all of my cpap supplies for my home unit including the Mirage FX mask. With that being said, how would I go about putting one of the universal HME devices inline with the tubing I will use to connect from the Zephair adapter to my Mirage FX mask?
Another question,do I need to buy standard or slimline hose to connect from AirMini to Mirage FX mask?
Thanks again for any suggestions or insights you can give me.

I use the AirMini with my mask of choice, the Bleep. I use the AirMini hose, with a size adaptor I got on Amazon. I came in a pack of either 4 or 6, all different sizes. Each end was different so you could select the size you needed for your machine hose and short hose. Sorry I can't help about the HME...that's the part I cut out to hack my hose to use my Bleep

Googling "airmini connector" yields a lot of results.

Sorry, I had a rough couple of days and didn't get on.

I just checked and the set of 4 I bought 2+ years ago for $12 +tax is no longer available. But there is another set that looks pretty much the same for $14.95. Not sure if we are allowed to post Amazon links? (I would be happy to PM you) But you can search on "Tubing Hose 4 Adapter Connectors 15mm, 22mm, 0.6", 0.9" Wide, for Good CPAP BIPAP Gadgets"

I also used "Thread Tape GT90 Green Thred Tape 1/2" x 260" Roll" which is like the white teflon tape used in plumbing. It's green and is labeled "oxygen" so I figured it would work on my CPAP hose connections. Have not had to replace it. Don't know if it was necessary or not!
