small bottles of distilled water on Amazon - anyone tried them?

I see that Amazon is selling small bottles (12-16.9oz) of distilled water. Has anyone tried them? What did you think?

They seem to have potential for shipping direct to a hotel for travel. There's a premium to the price compared to buying gallons of course, but it doesn't seem unreasonable for the convenience while travelling.

So, what did they stick you for?
My home distiller makes about 2 gallons for 25 cents,
and I no longer travel by air, so I can carry DW anywhere.
You pay what it's worth to YOU.

It is indirectly. You ask about sending distilled water to a hotel and the thread says it is fine to use tap water. Why buy something you don’t need? You can’t take it on planes so unused will be discarded. If you are driving then you can take your own.

I haven't purchased yet. I wanted to see if others have tried it and if they have a preferred trustworthy brand. It occurs to me that a low volume niche product like this might not even actually be distilled water. So a brand recommendation would go far in my decision process.

Prices vary but start around $19 including shipping for a half dozen small bottles. Obviously bringing my own from home (where I purchase at the grocery store at less than a dollar a gallon is my first choice. But in the grand scheme of things, $19 isn't much in the scope of most business trips that include air travel. Sure beats spending 2 hours searching for it while "in country".

I'm aware that many use tap water when travelling, then clean any mineral buildup when they return. I do this too, but would prefer to use distilled water if there's reliable, trustworthy way to get it at a reasonable cost.

The bottles are typically labeled as being for CPAP, so may possibly make it through security at least some of the time. I have not tried this and am not sure I would, but it is possible.

So you waste everybody's time by asking something that's covered? "there's no need to use distilled water", but hey, if you want to waste your money, go right ahead, just don't bother us with it.

Consider the carbon footprint for buying little bottles of water and the plastic that goes out into the environment from tiny little bottles. Since traveling is usually short term, and if you are moving around a lot your chamber gets emptied and cleaned out regularly before you travel on, it should be no big deal to use tap water, or--if you must-- local bottled water if traveling in a country where the tap water is questionable.

I don't really use water in my humidifier anymore--I got used to not using it when I had to sleep for 3 years with a dead humidifier on the PRS1 due to a manufacturer's defect which was never corrected. I felt bad enough buying 1 gallon containers of distilled water before I realized the humidifier was dead dead that I found a "water store" where I could fill up a glass gallon bottle for 35 cents instead. It was a real PITA to get the water that way (glass gallon jugs full of water are HEAVY!!!), but less impact on the world I hope to leave to my grandchildren.

And yes, I carry my own insulated water bottle and refill it from taps and drinking fountains when water is needed outside my home. I wear my crunchy granola badge proudly.

I just use any of the filtered bottled water they have at the airports or hotels. A few nights won't hurt and with the filtered water you shouldn't have to do any extra cleaning. I've never had a problem.

A gallon costs 99 cents at the grocery store. Or tap water is still free

The question I asked is whether anyone had tried them. If you have not, kindly refrain from replying.

I am well aware that many will reject the premise of this product. I'm also well aware that many entertain themselves by posting without regard to whether their post is helpful or on point. This wasn't an invitation to sound off about the environment or whether I am stupid. If you have nothing positive to add to this topic then please just move along.

If there are folks who have tried them, I'd still like to hear about your experiences.
