Exhale Puff Percentage Time vs Exhale Puff Index

Post by MMcG » Wed Sep 29, 2021 1:33 am

My Devilbiss machine shows the percentage time during which exhale puffs occur as opposed to exhale puff index (EPI). Does anyone know how these two measures relate to each other if at all? The figure has gradually risen just as I've started to get slightly better sleep. It (% exhale puff time) started in single figures, but is now around 20%, having been as high as 34%.

Which DeVilbiss machine are you using? Is it the DV5x series? What software are you using to see the exhale puff data?

It's the DV6 (latest model) series. I downloaded an app from Devilbiss to my iPhone, and I can get the exhale puff data from that (it downloads it from the machine using Bluetooth). But it states it as percentage time spent in exhale puff, which is not the same as the exhale puff index more commonly used.

I know nothing about that app, so can't guess what it is reporting.

We are beta testing DV6x support in OSCAR now. See the first thread in the forum if you are interested.

Or, if you would like me to run your data through OSCAR and post results here, make a zip of your SD card and upload it to my Dropbox folder. Please include your forum name in the zip file name so we know who the file is from.

Let me know which day or day's you would like to see the OSCAR report for.
