humidifier problems

Post by jandis171 » Sun Sep 26, 2021 3:31 am

I am having problems with my Resmed Airsense 10 as the humidifier will not remain on all night.
I can wakeup and the heater plate is cold and the water level is the same as when I first switched on.
Is there any way that I can test it, or are there setting that need adjusting

What are your humidity settings?
Using a heated hose or non heated hose?
What is the ambient humidity in your bedroom?
Been raining lately where you live?

About the only testing you can do is turn the machine on and use the warm up feature (explained in the manual) and after about 15 minutes pull out the water chamber and see if the bottom is warm or not.
The heater will cycle on/off during the night as needed per the settings in relation to ambient humidity so checking it in the mornings does not mean much because if it is cold/off it could just be the cycle. Need to test at the beginning of the night after about 15 minutes of warm up.

Don't know about warm up....explained in the manual.

I have ben using a CPAP for several years but this problem has only just developed.
Yes, using the warm up and there is action, but it does not remain on.
I have a feeling that that auto cycle applies to the Autoset machine whereas mine is the basis CPAP.
There is a warning that it could be hot to touch when emptying, no risk with mine as it is cold and after 6-8 hours has used little or even no water,

Your feeling is wrong.

Humidifier works the same way on either model....the AutoSet, Elite or basic CPAP models.

Please answer the above questions that I previously asked.

If it doesn't stay on then there is usually a reason it doesn't think it needs to stay on. Usual reason is the ambient humidity in the bedroom is already pretty high for some reason or the setting used is very low...or both.

And BTW...it's not burning hot...doesn't ever get that hot.

The heated humidifier does not run non-stop.
Like every other electric heater made, it is turned on and off by a thermostat.
