AirCurve10ST: beep alerts ???

Post by DRK3417 » Wed Jul 07, 2021 10:20 am

:? AirCurve10ST: recently, I awake to a soft beep-beep-beep repeat 3-beeps again. When I awake and hear the soft beeps, I immediately check my mask/pillows fit - each time ALL is a good/tight fit/no leaks.

What I do notice is I'm breathing shallow/short (like we do SCUBA diving to prolong our air tanks). When I intentionally take deep breaths the beeps go away and stay away. I've asked the Resmed sales reps, sleep Dr, and searched the manual and I see/get nothing. myAir is worthless as it does not report any alarms.

Can AirCurve10ST sense at 'Central' event? But I was told that if I stop breathing the AirCurve (set to 10 BPM) will force a breath into me to trigger my auto-reflex breathing to re-activate. Is there a AirCurve alarm connected to that? Why doesn't myAir record Alarm events?

I'd like my AirCurve to show "better resolution" to actual sleep Events listing a 'time-stamp' to any abnormal Event - so we know when it occurs during our sleep. (Since the AirCurve is connected to a cellphone there is no reason for not having accurate 'time-stamping'! DRK, MS-EET

Did you mean AirCurve 10 ST??? There is no AirSense ST model in the ResMed line.

The AirCurve 10 ST model doesn't do the FOT thing to differentiate between central apneas and obstructive apneas so it can't distinguish centrals from obstructives. It will realize there is no air flow and flag the lack of air flow as an unclassified event as long as it lasts at least 10 seconds.

Actually all the machine will do with the back up rate of 10 is make sure you breathe at least 10 times in a minute. It doesn't necessarily respond to the lack of breathing itself. Think of it as regulating your breathing more than a responding to lack of breathing. It isn't an immediate response kind of thing.

Have you looked at the clinical/provider manual for the AirCurve 10 ST to see if it explains the beeping or alarms?
This is the first I have heard of it myself so I have no idea what it means.

Do you know about OSCAR software? It shows detailed flow rate about each breath or lack of that is timed and easy to spot.

If you don't have the clinical/provider manual...you can request it here
