Mine runs between the headboard and the mattress; about 3-4 feet to where my pillow is. (The machine is on the left side of the bed.) The excess hose just makes a loop past my pillow. If I turn back to the machine the hose will come with me. Works well enough, but I haven't tried tying it off to the headboard.
