Tube may be blocked message

Post by mets123 » Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:48 am

I have been using the bleep mask for three months and it is great. The past week on two occasions I wake up and there is a message on the machine that says the tube might be blocked. I have checked all the connections and even replaced my heated tubing. Upon researching this it says it might be a rainout issue but I don’t have this problem. I sometimes get a few water droplets in the mask but is probably from my own breathing hot air in the tube. I also put a cozy wrap on my tubing.
Can anyone please help me with this issue?

What machine? Remember the equipment profiles aren't showing up.
How long have you had this machine?
Is the machine off or on and blowing air when you see this message?

There was a known software issue about this some years back and ResMed forced an over the air update to the machine hardware because of it. It's the only known forced upgrade I have ever known ResMed to do.
This was for the AirSense/AirCurve models.

If you are using a Resmed, here is what it says in your owners manual....."Check the air tubeing and remove any blockages. Press the dial to clear the message then press Start/Stop to restart the device."

If you have tried that...I would unplug the machine for 30 seconds an then replug and see if the message clears

I have the Resmed aircurve 10 vauto and it is 2 years old . It has been running perfectly until I have had this problem two times recently. It seemed that the machine was not running when I saw the message on the machine. I clicked the big button and the message disappeared.

I got this same message multiple times on my Airsense 10 a few weeks ago. Hate to say it but your machine is most likely toast. I ended up having to buy a new one, my machine was 5 years old.

Take it back to your dealer...there is a 2 year warranty. Otherwise check out ACBIO.COM.

Thanks LSAT, but I bought it slightly used from second wind and is out of warranty.

I wouldn't think a 2 year old machine would have that known problem that ResMed sent out the forced update on (wasn't all that long after the initial release of this new model) but now that you have added gently used from second wind we don't know the exact date it was made.....so wouldn't be impossible but we have no way to know for sure and we don't really have access to the various hardware/software numbers to know if your machine might have been affected or not.

In other words we don't know and have no way of knowing if your machine's internal software is or has been upgraded.
Plus we don't know for sure that is the problem with your machine.

A lot of unknowns. I would call up acbio.com and run all this by them and see what they say. They can figure out exact manufacture date from the serial number (and all we can get is year but they can get more) and they might be able to tell you if your software version needs upgrading or not...or whatever else it might be that is your problem.
