I'm lazy too, but being lazy about buying and carrying the heavy bottles up the stairs trumps being too lazy to clean the tank.
A gallon of water weights about 8 lbs, hope you don't like Milk. Water Melon, or Whole Turkeys.

I can't imagine why one would want to drag a whole turking up the stairs and into ones bedroom but whatever floats your boat.

The bullfrog just ran six gallons of water through the distiller.
Jugs only need to be carried from the kitchen to the bedroom.
Talk about cheapskates--he plans to distill as much as possible while our electricity is on winter rates.
Yes, our electricity gets a bump in price as soon as air conditioning season starts.
Of course our HEAT is electric, so we get the cheap heat--still spendy, but waaaay better than ripoff NG.
I figured that natural gas here cost us about TWICE as much per BTU as electricity.
The reason--gas is unregulated, and electricity is a public utility, not privatized--though they have tried a few times.

It's a Support Turkey, it turns my cpap on. I couldn't find a Dog or Cat that would press the button. Now I glue a corn kernel to the start button. Jim

Ok figuring it out. Supplier wants me to change mask out every 2 weeks, assuming main reason so they can charge for new mask when time comes.
As long as dreamwisp mask don't leak is there anything wrong with using them until they fail?

Replacement guidelines are different for various PARTS of the mask.
The soft silicone is expected to last
at least 2 weeks (a month for full face cushions).
The headgear is expected to last at least 6 months, and the frame 3 months.
These are the MINIMUM intervals covered by insurance/Medicare.
You can use the projected replacement times to score backup supplies, but there is
NO REASON to replace perfectly usable parts.

I'll just clean pan out periodically.
If it gets too clouded for your likes, a replacement tub is about $20 and your insurance might pay all but $4.

Yes...your insurance will pay for 2 replacement cushions each month so suppliers will always recommend that replacement schedule because it is a cash cow for them.
You can safely wait until the cushion fails or simply won't hold a seal or just gets too yucky looking for you liking. They will all yellow with time but the color doesn't really affect function. When I was using the nasal pillow mask my insurance would replace at the same schedule ...2 per month but I could use them for months and months.
I do recommend always having a spare or two handy just in case something happens. Murphy's Law says that a failure will almost always happen on the weekend or holiday when it isn't so easy to get a replacement. I have had 3 water chambers fail on me...2 were my fault because I dropped them and one was seal failure...all 3 failures happened on a Friday night.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.

We can get all of our equipment free with no co-pays. However, we only change out items when they wear out. The mask frames we are using are over three years old, the current cushions have been in use for over fifteen months and the head gear is about six months old. My wife and I were both raised in families where we had to make things last and were taught to take care of what we have. We do keep spares on hand, but change them only when necessary. How often you change is up to you, but always have a spare on hand. Things like to break on weekends when the DME is closed.
Growing old is mandatory, but growing up is optional.

I used to be the once a week germaphobe with cleaning and sanitizing my machine. After a while I got comfortable and usually replace the disposable filters every two weeks and maybe twice a month clean out the humidifier dish. Just remember if your sleep specialist asks to you to bring your machine to your next appointment, make sure you give the hose, mask and dish a good scrub. . .just in case they decide to put their nose where it doesn't belong.

I replace my mask and headgear when I get a new one.
My logbook for my cpap has 21 lines per page--one line per day.
I replace my pillows and filter when I start a new page.
At that point, the leaks are getting iffy, so it's time.
The tank gets cleaned when it starts looking/smelling suspicious.
