Trying to find the good mask

Hi,

I am new to cpap, about a month in. My question is, basically, when I switch to a new mask, does the machine need a new setup in terms of airflow speed/pressure or in any regard? I am still in the phase where we are trying to figure out what mask will work best.

First I got a joyce type S sized full face mask, and it worked like charm in terms of sleep quality, but the mask was way to small, and it hurt my nose and forehead so I asked for another one. The new one they gave me is a BMC F2 full face mask, now M sized. This is much more comfortable, however there is a huge difference, this one vents a lot of air through its vent holes on its front, and accordingly, I feel the pressure less and feel it is less effective on my sleep too. The doc said there was no need to change the setting altough the difference is obvious. Do you thing I can just try different kind of maks without any adjustment on the machine? Also, I just checked the manual, and based on my face size I'd need an L size mask, and they gave me size S first. No wonder that one was not good.

I use a BMC RESsmart GII machine.

Any suggestion is appreciated.

Why didn't you just get a larger size in the first mask (that you otherwise liked)?

Btw - where do you live - I ask because I've never heard of either of those masks or the machine.

I just took whatever the doc and the assistants gave me. Now I learned I might have to figure some of this out myself. In Hungary.

a quick google search shows it available at amazon.in. that appears to be india.

because my google skills are lacking, i'm not sure how to do any sort of comparison. but just looking at the picture, it looks like a typical resmed machine found in north america.

let's see what sort of response we get.

(wonder if the oscar software works with it?)

Though I am not familiar with that machine, probably not. In general there's no need on any machine I've seen. SOME machines have the ability to 'customize' the kind of mask you are using, but that would be an option in the settings, not something requiring resetting..

It would be in your manual if there was such a setting.

your machine isn't used in north america. the bulk of people on this forum are from north america.

you'll have to be patient until someone comes by who uses your machine.

or you can look through your machine's menu to see if there are separate settings for full face or nasal or nasal pillows.

or ask the people who set it up.
