Selling Resmed S9

Post by cnl390 » Wed Jul 08, 2020 12:55 pm

I received my new ResMed Airsense 10 and will be selling my S9. It's six years old, in great condition with carrying case and two power supplies.
Just wondering what a fair and reasonable price would be.

If you have used it for 6 years, you probably have 15,000 hours on it....You may be better off keeping it as a back up. In my opinion, if it's an autoset, it may be worth $100 to someone as a travel machine or back up...Otherwise..a doorstop.

Model? Run hours.

Keep it as a backup.

Or give it to somebody for the cost of shipping.

Press the silver button next to INFO...then turn the dial till you see SERVICE at the top. You should see the RUN HOURS.
If you used the machine regularly for 6 years, it should be close to 15,000

Run hours will significantly impact the value of the machine. High hour machines simply won't hold their value because people tend to think of them near their end of life cycle.
Add high hours to a discontinued model machine that was over 6 years old.... and it's not going to be worth much.
People won't spend much on a machine that might crap out next month...that kind of thinking.

Even at 4 hours a night for 6 years that's close to 9K hours...people won't want to pay much (if anything) for that many hours.

I see you just posted hours...over 16 K....its best value is maybe as a back up machine for you in case something happens to your new machine or maybe a travel machine for you. Or if you end up with a friend or family member needing or wanting to try cpap. That happens more often than you might think.

Now you could try something like Craigslist and see what interest you get but most people will ask for the run hours and it will likely be a negative depending on how low you price it.
