Broken Airsense 10?

Post by EndeavorBob » Thu Jun 04, 2020 5:08 pm

I recently noticed my Airsense 10 would not shut off when I would take my mask off. I also noticed that the outbound pressure is not what the display is indicating. I also can feel the motor kinda vibrating. Is this a known problem with the Airsense 10? Also, if it is broken, can anyone recommend or even know if they can be sent in for repair?

I've tried adjusting settings in the clinician menu with no change in pressure output. I appreciate any input.

What is it displaying and when are you talking about the difference and how do you know the outbound pressure is not what the display shows?
Are you talking about when you take the mask off or when you are wearing the mask?

Which mask are you using?
What is your pressure setting?
Which model AirSense 10?
How long have you been using it?

We need more information to be able to offer concrete ideas.

I can tell because when I set it to 20 and set it to 5 it is still blowing out with the same pressure although I don't know WHAT the pressure is, I KNOW it isn''t 20

Are you talking about when you take the mask off or when you are wearing the mask? When I take it off, it does not turn off automatically even though that setting is on.

Which mask are you using? I am using an Ultra Mirage
What is your pressure setting? I am using 4-10. I also turned ramp on and off to test and no difference in either setting.
Which model AirSense 10? Elite
How long have you been using it? I have had it for about a year or so but it was given to me by my father and I think he had it for a while but not positive on how long

So at the risk of me sounding stupid, I figured out my problem and I would rather sound stupid and help someone than not. When I put a new filter in, I did not seat it properly and it was being sucked up against the inlet port causing a restriction of airflow.

Thanks for sharing. Saves me a lot of more typing trying to figure out what might be going on.
And yes...it might help someone else down the road because that is now one of the questions I will ask.

As you found out...filters can't be taken for granted and are more than just dust catchers.

Yes, thanks for sharing that it very well may help someone else, and good on you for figuring it out.
