Cellular communication to AirView verses SD card

I've been reading the vast amount of data contained here as a guest for some time - Thank you all for the information you provide.

A Little Background
I had been using a Respironics REMstar Plus - M series for many years. The power supply recently failed and It was hard to find a replacement. I was able to get around the short in the cord but no longer had a warm and fuzzy feeling about continuing to do so. Plus it was way past time for me to embrace the new technology.

It took about a month to get an appointment for a sleep study, so I could get a script for a new machine. After completing the study and speaking with the respiratory therapist (and using the information provided here) I got a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet with the ResMed AirFit F20 mask.

Question
The therapist informed me that all the needed data will be transferred to them via the CPAP machine's cellular communication capabilities and said I could also access this information by using the ResMed app called "myAir." The information provided on the app is basic to the point of being useless. I hope the therapist gets more detail. The machine's documentation which pugsy provided in another thread https://www.respshop.com/manuals/ResMed ... %20her.pdf stated that each machine comes with an SD card. However, mine did not.

If I were to install an SD card in the new machine's provided slot, would it disable the cellular communication to the therapist, which I believe is needed for insurance purposes to show the machine is actually being used. I would really like to get the detailed information from OSCAR, but am not sure if both an SD card and cellular communications can both be enabled.

Are all SD cards created equal? What SD storage capacity is required?

Having the SD card in the machine doesn't affect the cellular transmission of data one way or the other. Won't hurt anything.

Any generic SD card will work. 2 GB size is more than sufficient but will likely be difficult to find since most places will be carrying larger sizes. I got one at WalMart...Sandisk 8 GB and it works just fine.
Supposedly all the machines are supposed to come with a SD card but maybe ResMed is now not supplying them or maybe the DME simply removed it before giving the machine to you since in their eyes you don't "need" it.
Just get your own SD card and do what you want with the software available to see more details. No one will ever know unless you tell them.

I suspect this is what usually happens when machines come without cards. Mine came with the ResMed SD card clipped into a folio via CPAP.com.

Your machine's on screen Sleep Report also has a large amount of data, but you need to make a setting change...Go into settings menu and find "essentials" and change the setting to "plus".

Gardenlover, if you just got your AS10, check your luggage bag that comes with it. There may be a folio with the SD card inside one of the flaps, along with some literature including a patient's manual. Similarly, you should find a slimline hose in one of the zippered compartments at the back of the luggage bag.

If you don't find them, and it's new, you could go back to your DME and request at no extra charge to receive your SD card and its included folio cover and any of the other stuff that was conveniently "forgotten." If your machine came with a heated hose, that's extra, but if you wanted to, you could also ask for the slimline as a backup because it's supposed to come with the machine.

Thanks Chris, I searched the bag to no avail. It would probably be easier for me to just pick up an SD card, but it is the principal of it. However, many times ease conquers principal in small matters. I found the rest of the material.
