Hello! I just started treatment for sleep apnea.I am the type of person who can run on 3 to 4 hours of sleep no problem. I always have. For the most of my life I am awake until 2am, and I wake up early maybe 6 or 7am. Recently the question of sleep apnea came up.
I got diagnosed with sleep apnea and told I had 44 events in an hour. Just got the ResMed AirSense™ 10 CPAP Machine Package with HumidAir Heated Humidifier. Used it last night, woke up at 7am it has 2:50 for usage hours, face mask seal needs to be adjusted but otherwise good. 23.6 events per hour. If I continue to get 3 hours of usage how can i meet compliance? I read minimum of 4 hours for 70 % of the month?
Thanks for any advice.
Just starting, compliance?
Re: Just starting, compliance?
Is this what the machine is showing? If so....way too many events. Something is wrong with your therapy.
.
Do you really have the AirSense 10 CPAP machine or do you by chance have a different model like ELite or AutoSet?
As for your compliance hours question....use the machine while awake reading a book or watching TV. The machine doesn't know if you are asleep or not. Awake hours of use will get totaled into the usage hours which don't have to be consecutive.
It's a cumulative total that is used...4 hour within a 24 hour period that starts new at 12 Noon each day.
