Hi All,
New user to the forum and to CPAP, thought i'd come and say hi.
37yo Male from Perth WA here. I've always snored terribly and over the past couple of years, had noticed myself becoming very tired in the day time.
We had a baby girl last June, and she has been sleeping in our room, it got to the point where i was waking her up, and severely annoying my wife, with my incessant snoring.
I finally went and done the sleep study just after the new year and was shocked by the results. My AHI came back as 91 and my oxygen saturation went down to 80% at times.
They started me on a CPAP trial immediately due to the severity, and i can honestly say I've never felt better.
The first night was a little strange, getting used to the equipment, but i very quickly found that the machine really helped.
The trail equipment that they set me up with was the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset machine and the ResMed P30i mask and nasal pillow.
My trial finished last week and i've purchased the exact same equipment that i got on so well with. The only question i'm asking myself is why didn't i do this sooner. The thought of sleeping without the machine now is unbearable as the memories of waking up gasping comes flooding back, i can't believe i used to think that how i felt was normal.
I hope this gives anyone that's considering / starting on CPAP a positive story to draw on.

Just wanted to welcome you to the forum and extend my best wishes for your continued improvement and success with cpap therapy.
And congrats on the new baby....your sleep will never be the same either way.
But you will need that added energy that treating your OSA will give you...just to deal with the baby.

Welcome to the forum (jungle). Lots of folks are guilty of putting things off. Glad you are feeling better and know that you are adding years to your life and probably contributing to a healthy life. Be sure to work any issues here that crop up. Looks as if you are off to a great start.

Congrats on the new baby and being able to sleep and breathe at the same time. The folks here are great and will be able to help you along the way if you need it. I’m not much help to anyone, but can offer encouragement and cheers. You can do this!

This is great to hear! Many people see improvement come along more gradually, with a longer period of adaptation to the strange experience of CPAP. It's wonderful you're responding so quickly, especially because now EVERYONE will sleep better and you will have more energy to enjoy your baby!
