Using CPAP with pulmonary embolisms?

I cant get an straight answer on this matter. Can you use a CPAP with pulmonary embolisms? Will it cause more pulmonary embolisms or further lung damage?

If you have an embolism, you should be under a doctor's care.
It is a serious situation, which should not be treated by strangers on the internet.
Your doctor should allow cpap if it is safe.
If he does not know, then you need to find one who knows.
We have no way to know the details of your specific case.

Chunky Frog is correct, you should absolutely check with the doctor treating you for a pulmonary embolism!

That being said, I was diagnosed with 2 PEs in June and was hospitalized overnight. I was told to have my husband bring my CPAP to the hospital to use that night. And my doctor, who has followed me closely for the last 6 months, has checked with me at every visit to be sure I am still using it.

Check with YOUR doctor to see what he/she want YOU to do, and follow their treatment recommendations.

Doing the wrong thing (one way or the other) can be very dangerous for you. You must coordinate with a doctor. It's too dangerous for anybody to post specific advise on this subject.
