It shows moderate sleep apnea. (AHI 15-29=moderate)

Bad enough.

Push for a Rx for an auto machine, preferably a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset For Her.

Will weight loss remove it, or not guaranteed?

no, weight loss won't remove it.the only way to treat sleep apnea is with a machine.

see palerider's post as to which machine you should ask for and get.

good luck!

Weight loss doesn't guarantee the OSA will go away. There's a lot of real skinny people out there with OSA.
It might and it might not. Worth doing anyway even if it doesn't for all the obvious reasons for losing excess weight.
I weighed 110 lbs when I got diagnosed. Losing weight wouldn't have helped me at all....I wasn't fat to start with.

Don't put off cpap while you go on a diet to try to lose the weight in an effort to rid yourself of the OSA though.
It might not work for one thing and it's really hard to lose weight when we feel like crap and don't have any energy to do what is needed to help lose weight.
Get the cpap...go on a diet if you need to and want to...and once you get the weight off and KEEP it off...get retested to see if the OSA has gone away or not.

It’s can actually be hereditary too. Do you don’t have to be a fatty to have OSA... but losing a few extra KGS MAY help.

there is no "for him".

many of us here believe the "for her" is a better machine. i have NO facts to back up this outrageous claim. others, such the demon you asked, can tell you the facts of the matter.

the "for her" part is an extra algorithm believed to be target towards women.

however, this algorithm can be turned either on or off by the end user.

good luck!

(My doctor just told me weight isn't the issue, always try to stay at a recommend weight, but for our condition weight is our last issue. It is just like a diabetic, there are over weight folks and folks at the perfect weight but they still have that condition. I agree get your machine as soon as possible).

Losing weight did not improve my apnea, but it was a very good thing anyway.

Just to amplify: there are three levels of diagnosis, which are mild, moderate, and severe. So you do really want to deal with this for the sake of your health. I read a study today, linked by palerider, that said one clear benefit of the For Her was better results for flow limitations. So that’s another reason for you to ask for that machine.

Keep us posted, will you?
