CPAP/BIPAP

Post by Fasttracks » Mon Nov 04, 2019 5:30 pm

Hello, I am new here.

I was wondering if this forum only applies to CPAP users or can people that use BiPaP get helpful information here also?

Thanks everybody,

I currently use a BiPAP with an oxygen concentrator. Ever since I got the machine, the oxygen tubing has come detached from the bleeder nozzle piece (see attached photo) every so often during the night. I live alone and am disabled with limited dexterity/grip/strength in my hands, so I cannot reattach it by myself. When this happens, I just go without wearing it the rest of the night until one of my PCA's, come over in the morning and attaches it for me.

My question is, do any of you know if there is a product or something out there, i.e. like a clamp where I can secure it to the bleeder valve so it doesn't pull apart? I have been tempted to gorilla glue it on, but I know that wouldn't be good for my lungs, and I would keep having to buy those little bleeder valves, because I have to replace the tubing every year.

What machine are you using as if it’s a Resmed you can get a heated hose designed for oxygen bleed in that has an input on the machine end of the hose where there is less chance of it being pulled off.

Also getting a hose cosy to cover the whole line and hose may help it not to come off

Or a few Velcro straps to hold the 2 tubes together?

A member here sells hose covers.
