APAP vs APAP for Her setting

Post by booksfan » Fri Oct 18, 2019 6:00 pm

I've been using the APAP for her setting for the last year and a half, with a pressure setting of 10-16. On any given night, my high pressure is around 13-14. But I see so many smooth flow limitation charts here on the boards (I know I should not compare  ), that I thought maybe I would try the regular APAP setting. It did lower the flow limitation spikes and max a bit, but I had to open my pressure up to 20! And I hit 20 every night now! I'm thinking maybe I should go back to the APAP for her setting with the lower pressures. I was hoping for some input from those of you who are more experienced. I've attached a couple of charts.
This is last night, regular APAP. Hit pressure of 20 a couple of times for a short time.

This is last weekend, APAP for her. Much lower pressure. Higher spikes on flow limitation.

You hit 20 because you *need* to hit 20. part of the 'for her' setting limits pressure increases, that's why you never got higher.

But, if you're ok with those flow limitations and other things on the 'for her' setting... then stick with that.
