Dreamwear - Still teeth problems

Post by Maximus » Wed May 04, 2016 3:05 am

Hello,

New to this forum so i'll start with some background information.

I'm Using a RESMED S9 for over a year now and have tried many different RESMED masks.

I have tried nasal pillow masks, nasal masks and full face masks from Resmed.
The major problem i have is my two front teeth, they always hurt after using the masks (excepts for the full face mask, but i find it to uncomfortable and very noisy). My main mask was the nasal mask.

To try to overcome the teeth problem i had a "hockey teeth protection" made. Although it does seem to have solved my problem for the most part (sometimes i did still feel something strange going on with my two front teeth), i also don't find it comfortable to wear both hockey teeth and a CPAP mask.

So because i read such great reviews about the philips dreamwear i ordered one (Medium frame with different sizes of nasal parts). I find it the best mask i have ever slept with. I like very much that the airhose is connected on the top of my head and i have almost no airleaks and find it very comfortable to wear. But i have one problem with it. After using it for two nights, i still feel a strange sensation on my to front teeth. I have tried the different sizes of nasal parts, and tried losening the tightness of the mask, this morning my teeth still felt a bit strange.

I probably have very sensitive teeth

Has anyone experienced the same thing? Is there anything i haven't tried yet to solve this problem?

Have you talked to a dentist or ENT? There may be a nerve or sinus that's being irritated by any pressure on your upper lip.

Other than that, perhaps the Tap Pap? It's essentially a mouth guard that supports the nasal pillows so nothing touches your face except the nasal pillows against your nares.

Thanks for your reply... i will look into it.

Last night i slept very good with my dreamwear. Great feeling this morning because i slept like a baby. It's amazing how different and comfy the dreamwear feels. I tried the large nasal part last night and i didn't really feel anything strange with my teeth when i woke up today. So i hope i can wake up like this every morning

I have notice the same thing. First my teeth was hurting in the front and I have crowns and veneers. I’ve been a dental assistant for more then 30 years. What is going on that I have notice is that the nasal pad is pressing against the frenum which is causing the teeth to ache and some separation. I haven’t wore mine in 3 nights and I have notice some movement back into place. Slowly tho but some movement. I will be going to a full mask dental work is to expensive. Hopefully I will not have to go into Invisalign to fix the damage due to the dreamwear nasal. I’m going to be submitting my finding along with a few dentist I know to the board of dentistry with pictures before and after. Keep track and pic. Also another thing. Look into the mirror and smile with you lips closed and you will see an indenting line under your nose lined with the front roots for you teeth.
