First Post -- Trying to get my AHI numbers lower

Post by SkipG » Wed Oct 09, 2019 1:55 pm

Although new to the forum, I've used a CPAP machine for 7-8 years prior to getting a ResMed AirCurve 10 ASV machine in mid-July. I joined the forum to find out if there was a way to find out more information than what myAir provided. Finding SleepyHead/OSCAR was a Godsend!

Before getting the ASV machine my expectations were that I would see a drop from an AHI of 30 to around 5. This hasn't happened, and my doctor is proceeding on the hypothesis that my EPAP pressure needs to be raised. Initially it was set at 6, we tried 7 for a couple of weeks and now it's at 8, with no effect on the AHI. My AHI with the new machine is around 18. I would still like to see it much lower, and am open to suggestions of things to try. Any thoughts on Auto ASV?

Here's last night's Daily view. On nights when I don't have horrendous leaks (about 25% of the time) they look like this. I have clusters of UA's, usually within an hour of going to sleep, and another cluster a few hours later. If I could eliminate those, I'd be a happy camper. Suggestions welcome!

I am thinking give Auto ASV mode a shot.
You need more EPAP and in auto mode the machine could auto adjust the EPAP. Right now it's fixed EPAP and not enough to prevent the airway from collapsing.
