Resmed Airsense 10

Post by The Baby Crow » Tue Sep 24, 2019 7:05 pm

Had this new machine for a week and it’s driving me crazy. I can hear it “whine” with every breath I take!
Is this normal?

No, it's not normal.
Most AirSense 10 users will tell you the machine is essentially silent.

Resmeds are considered to be close to silent.
So unless your hearing is very sensitive something might be wrong with the blower.
Or a leak or ?
One hearing impaired person's opinion, :D

Just received my new airsense 10 autoset two days ago and experiencing the same thing. Bought it on Amazon Canada for 511$ US.... Happy with the price, but maybe I got a lemon.

I want to say there was a thread somewhat recent and it may have been the water reservoir not seated properly.
Can you determine where the sound is coming from?

I had the same issue and my medical supplier gave me a new machine with no issue. The tech said it’s a common issue and indicated a faulty machine.

my airsense 10 is quiet. You may have the water tank not seated correctly. Once when my machine was making that noise, that was the problem. Or you have a faulty machine. Do you have a humidifier attached? or just a plate on the side? If you don't use the water tank & it has been removed, and no plate on the side to cover the hole, that could be the problem.

If that was the case, the machine would not run at all....QUACK QUACK

actually, the machine DOES run without a humidifier or plate on it. I forgot to attach the water tank once & it was really loud, but it was blowing air. try it yourself if you don't believe me. quack quack. I got my name from my great-nephew who could not pronounce "Aunt Becky". It came out as "Aunt Ducky" and I let it stick. He is now 15 years old, but I still get called Aunt Ducky

MOST people are swift enough to notice that there's zero air in the mask in that situation.

You must have a unique model because after about 3 seconds the machine turns off with a "high leak" message on the screen.

I guess I shut it off immediately & attached the tank, so didn't find out how long it would run that way. Besides, the person who started this message said it was a "whining" noise. Completely different now that I think of it. Not sure what would cause a whining noise.
