Hello all. I am a new CPAP user. Got the ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset and I travel bout half of the year, so I want to get a travel one too since I already travel with my big backpack and guitar on the plane as carry on.
I think the ResMed Airmini is too expensive and not compatible with anything. I am looking into the HDM Z2 auto that's way cheaper, quieter, with great reviews and around the same size.
Is there a problem if I start using 2 different brands / record apps one at home and another one while traveling? Are there any issues with doing that when reporting to the doctor or something? Should I try to stick to the same brand because they use the same record app or is it ok that I go with the Z2 even though at home I use the ResMed?
What are your thoughts? Opinions are trully welcome. Thanks!

My Airsense 10 Autoset travels quite nicely.
If I needed a travel machine, I would get another--same model--probably used/cheap.
More comfortable for me to be consistent.

Since you are new to cpap and there might be some compliance issues involved with your insurance company you need to be checking with them first to find out exactly what any requirements might be.
You need to be using the machine they bought for you to prove you used it.
Now once any compliance requirements are met then it won't matter if you use another machine but you likely need to use the insurance paid for machine the entire compliance period whatever it might be.

Thanks chunkyfrog. I know the Airsense is not that huge, but when you travel half of the year, even that feels chunky and takes a lot of space. Sometimes I go from one country to another non stop, so, it can be a pain.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:14 amMy Airsense 10 Autoset travels quite nicely.

Good point pugsy. However, my insurance did not cover the first CPAP for whatever reason, so the machine is totally mine already and do not need to prove them anything regarding usage. Thanks for your opinion about after the insurance period.Pugsy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 11:23 amSince you are new to cpap and there might be some compliance issues involved with your insurance company you need to be checking with them first to find out exactly what any requirements might be.

Re: Using 2 CPAP brands at the same time
I’m using two different models from the same manufacturer. My primary machine, a Dreamstation Pro CPAP for now, is the one my insurance company is graciously allowing me to overpay for, entirely out of pocket. I’m on a high deductible plan .... My secondary machine is a Dreamstation Go Auto, also purchased out of pocket, without ins involvement.
I don’t personally care whether the insurance company approves or not. The Sleep Center uses PR’s DreamMapper app to monitor my results for the doctor, and it supports two machines (both PR, of course).
I would talk to the Respiratory Tech that works with the doctor to find out what their mixed-use capability is.
For Oscar, I had some problems with trying to merge data from different machines in a common profile. I now have a dedicated profile for each machine.
I read some mixed reviews about the Z1/Z2 airflow, but I have no experience with it.
Btw, the Dreamstation Go has a universal power supply built in instead or requiring an external brick.

Tiny travel machines have trade-offs.
Noise, less refined treatment algorithms, and lower lifespan.
They are more appropriate for short, infrequent use--not nearly full time.
You are welcome to go with the travel machine of your choice,
but be ready for the end of that honeymoon.

I just noticed Second Wind is selling a brand new Z2 for $449.
Your post was the first I heard of this machine. I hope you will post a review after you have used it for a while.
