The Respironics DreamStation AVAPS is essentially a brick

Post by raisedfist » Sun Aug 25, 2019 2:45 pm

The machine itself only shows you AHI with no breakdown, mask fit and the amount of time the machine was used. It does not work with SleepyHead. It does not work properly with OSCAR. It won't let me register with DreamMapper and their e-mail support does not respond. Then I can't even get Encore to read the SD card data.

I bought this machine for fun to try out. The capabilities are junk which is sad because the therapy is actually pretty quiet, and the humidification with the heated hose works fantastic. I guess they want it locked down so you are forced to wait to see your doctor.

Which Encore Pro version are you trying to use with it?

I had to try Encore Basic because the latest Encore Pro on the other board won't install regardless of following all the directions. And for some reason they don't seem to archive the older versions...newer is not always better.

None of the DreamStation models will work with Encore Basic unless there is a way newer version of Basic that I haven't heard of and don't have.

I am not sure if my version of Pro will work with this particular DreamStation model but I would be willing to try.
I haven't gone an got the latest version to see if it is any different than what I have. Since I don't use Respironics I have no need to really keep up with it except for situations like this.

My Pro version is 2.20.6.0

Interestingly, there's a new thread in the oscar dev forum by someone who has a Dreamstation AVAPS, so, it should (with any luck and effort) be supported soon. :)
