'No data avaliable'

Post by jskinner » Thu Dec 07, 2006 8:42 am

I forgot to put my smart card back into my machine the other night and missed getting the detailed data for that night. No big deal I thought its happened before (why can't xPAPs have a wireless connection or more on board RAM!)

However the next night when I loaded the nights data I got a 'No data available' in the compliance view for the missed night. I've never seen this before as I thought compliance data always got recorded even without the card being in.

Anyone else seen this?

No data

Same exact thing happened to me too. With a REMstar Auto tank running EncorePro v1.5.77.

James,

I forgot to put my card back in my machine ONCE (in July of '05).....and changed my routine to prevent that from happening again.
I BELIEVE the information on the LCD keeps the compliance night's information up to date, but if the card isn't in, there's obviously nowhere to put any data.
What I did with regard to my "OOPS" was to go into the Encore Pro and X'd out that night (I knew I was compliant) so the it didn't count against my compliance percentage.

Den

(5) REMstar Autos w/C-Flex & (6) REMstar Pro 2 CPAPs w/C-Flex - Pressure Setting = 14 cm.
"Passover" Humidification - ResMed Ultra Mirage FF - Encore Pro w/Card Reader & MyEncore software - Chiroflow pillow

I was under the impression that there was some memory on the machine itself and that the card was only needed to store detailed data? Maybe I was wrong?

The memory in the machine seems to be intended to keep the 7 and 30 day averages up to date. With respect to Encore Pro's compliance reports, Wulfman's suggestion works.

James, your problem is you're trying to be logical and questioning why the machine can't update the smartcard after it's (belatedly) installed.

Funny, I could have sworn that I had left the card out on other nights and still got the compliance data the next time I plugged it in.

Yeah I have a problem with trying to be too logical. Comes with being a computer programmer I think

Well, I don't think there's any "memory" in these machines (that could compare to computer RAM), but there's some types of hours that are stored (somewhere)......Blower hours and Compliance nights and User hours.....that will show up on the screen, depending on which mode it's in. When the machine is just sitting there (not running), it displays the hours used. When you go into the setup it will show the "compliance" hours/nights (which are number of nights of use > 4 hours.....and which can be cleared) and then there are the blower hours which will also display (I think) when it's plugged in (and can only be cleared by replacing the Main PCA).

Its very likely FLASH memory (or a variation there on) that being used. Not really that different from computer RAM except that it does not loose its data when power is disconnected. This is the same type of memory used in those 'USB Keys' that you can plug into your PC.

My understanding is if no card then no data. I hvae read this somewhere, but don't remember.
