Hi, First post here!
Been reading some threads with interest, thanks everyone for information available here...
I'm new to CPAP, less than a month in. Struggling to get used to it in all honesty.
I'm a couple of nights into using the TAP PAP mask, which I think it's going to work much better than the full face I started with.
Struggling with a bit of comfort and seal on my slightly odd shaped nostrils, but that seems solvable.
My initial question is how much leakage is expected through the front vent in normal operation (maintaining pressure, not on exhale)?
Both the mask fit test on my machine and my nightly stats indicate the mask fit is good and leakage is well below 10 L/min (threshold is 24 L/min). But the constant airflow from the front of the mask is very noticeable and a little distracting.
I was wondering if this is normal with this mask? Anyone else using it and can comment on the amount of airflow they notice?
The only other thing I've noticed is that my AHI was significantly increased last night, 13 as apposed to under 5 most other nights, but I need to use it more before I can see a pattern there I guess.
Appreciate any comments people have.
Thanks, Rich

Re: TAP PAP Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask Vent flow
It's normal venting.
Some masks you just feel the vented air movement more than others and it can vary as the pressure varies.
People using higher pressures will experience more vented air movement than people using lower pressures.
The trick is to position yourself so the vented air isn't bouncing off anything to cause annoyances. Easier said than done sometimes.
