What to do with old CPAP machines

Post by Jaymalea » Sun Jul 07, 2019 8:10 pm

What do I do with old CPAP machines? Between my Mom and I we have three to go to good homes.

Sell them, give them away or recycle them with the rest of the old electronic equipment. Post what machines you have so readers who may have some interest can respond.

It's an HC-201 that I got in 1999 and used every night until some time in 2005 (including international travel). The pressure is adjusted by turning a screw and measuring the output with an instrument. The max setting is 18. It is so old that it does not have exhalation relief, nor does it have altitude adjustment (not even manual). It does have a built-in heated humidifier (if the reservoir cracks, the machine cannot be used). The cord is permanent and slightly separated where it goes in the chassis. The machine has a three prong (grounded) US-style plug and an international power supply.

No, I won't take any money for it. Somebody asked what type of machine I was talking about, so I posted the info. I don't think anybody even wants it donated.

D.H. World Traveler.
Living on the razor's edge of CPAP travel.
Intrepidly driving on no matter the danger.
Altitude, Hah. He laughs at having no adjustment as he climbs the Himalayas.
Water chamber, who needs it he sneers.
Frayed power cord, he snorts in derision as a short shuts down the entire power grid of Hung Chow, Cambodia.
He feels secure in the knowledge that he has a three prong (grounded) US-style power cord and an international power supply.

What a guy.

If anyone cared, why not post in the correct thread, as if anyone cares about a useless machine. I used to have a 1955 Studebaker Commander, If I had it now it would have been worth big bucks, unlike your Doorstop! Jim
