Loose impeller

Post by Burrman » Sat Jul 06, 2019 12:59 pm

Hello All, I ran across this board in a search for a issue I am having, I have been on cpap for several years and have a had several machines and several issues but have never ran across this one yet. The particular machine I have that I am wanting to use is a older Remstar that I got from someone however the impeller on the motor shaft appears to loosen and drops onto the housing causing the motor to stop now me knowing its a metal shaft and a plastic impeller I would think that possibly a drop of glue may solve this problem my question is has anyone else ran across this issue before and if so how did you fix it and if it was a glue fix what is safe to use ? after all it is gonna be inhaled. any help would be greatly appreciated.

You did a great job by telling us the EXACT Model of the Machine. Since we know so much about it, my only suggestion, would be clean the shaft and shaft blower hole with Alc 90%, let dry, use Loc Tite to mount it back on.

Be aware there are many kind of loc tite, use the correct product, don't over do it, don't get it in the motor. If that doesn't work, find a new or used XPAP! Jim

To clean the hole in the fan, a string soaked in the Alc, run thru the hole will clean it out.
Use data to optimize your xPAP treatment!
