Not sure what the heck is d oes... here's a testimonial "“I began falling asleep more quickly, consistently sleeping for longer periods, sleeping more deeply, waking refreshed (no more need for the ‘Snooze’ button), and not experiencing waves of fatigue throughout the day. I sincerely recommend Ebb for anyone in search of a good night’s sleep.”"

Anyone ever use this thing? looks ridiculous..

Here's another one I think is relevant didn't see it on there page.

https://academic.oup.com/sleep/article/ ... 42/3781640

Frontal cerebral thermal therapy produced improvements over sham on convergent measures of sleep latency. The safety profile was comparable to sham treatment. While there were numerical improvements over sham in absolute change from baseline in latency to persistent sleep and in sleep efficiency (the two a priori co-primary end-point measures), these changes did not achieve statistical significance. However, other sleep latency measures were significantly different from sham supporting the efficacy of the device in sleep induction. These measures included latency to persistent sleep (relative change p= 0.013), the latency to stage 1 NREM sleep (p=0.006), the latency to stage 2 NREM sleep (p=0.002) and suggestive for the latency to stage 3 NREM sleep (p=0.055).

The results of this study, therefore, suggest that the clinical benefit observed with frontal cerebral thermal therapy treatment would be similar in clinical practice to that observed for hypnotic drugs.

Whether the device has effects on sleep maintenance is inconclusive given the large sham effect seen in this study. The device increased sleep time in the first hour of the night. The improvement for the active condition from baseline in sleep effi-ciency was notable (a 12.3 per cent absolute improvement or 20 per cent relative improvement) and comparable to improvements in sleep efficiencies from baseline reported for both hypnotics and cognitive behavior therapy

In summary, a novel device delivering frontal cerebral thermal therapy for two nights showed effects on sleep induction com-parable to results of current hypnotic treatments as reported in

meta-analyses and had a benign safety profile. Hypnotics have pri-marily shown efficacy on sleep latency but have well-known side effects while frontal cerebral thermal therapy showed similar levels of acute efficacy on sleep induction without significant side effects. The effect sizes for frontal cerebral thermal therapy for improving sleep induction were robust and reliable across multiple sleep la-tency measures and were comparable to placebo-corrected effect sizes reported for hypnotics. Effects on sleep maintenance and subjective sleep quality are inconclusive given the small sample size of this study as well as larger than expected sham effects noted on these measures. Longer duration studies are needed

To cool down quickly (and cheaply), I apply a cold beverage container alternately to my
temporal, carotid, and brachial pulse points--for 10-20 seconds at each location.
Then I remove the cap, and proceed to drink said beverage.
$699 buys a lot of "cold beverage"--I can even share.

In my entire life, I can't ever remember having trouble sleeping because my forehead was too warm. Even in hot & humid camping, the night may not be cool, but is so much cooler than the day that I can't remember having a problem sleeping because it was too hot. In those conditions, the problem is usually bugs. I've only had a problem sleeping due to the opposite end of the thermometer, where I was having a pretty difficult time getting warm enough to control my shivering and stop thinking I might freeze to death in my sleep.

Now, some may think $700 for a forehead cooler might be an expensive, silly, marketing gimmick and there's a good chance that's all it is. I won't be buying one. But I'm willing to be entertained at the ingenuity of marketing talent, as well as the gullibility of the shoppers who fall for it (I've done my share) in the "free market". For every thousand (or far more) goofy products, there comes a genuinely awesome product. And if you live long enough and pay attention, life will usually (hopefully) beat enough "stupid" out of you so you can spot the difference.
