Got a new machine and now swallow air!

Post by 2_Big » Sat Jun 15, 2019 5:55 am

I used to have a Phillips System One and rarely had issues of swallowing air. I now have a Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset. The settings and mask are the same just the machine is different. I wake up multiple times a night needing to burp and my stomach hurts. Once I burp I’m good to go and my stomach feels better. Is the new machine more efficient or something so maybe my settings should be set lower? My AHI is almost always under 1 and the only negative stat is my mask seal. I seem to have a lot of leakage 95% of the time.

I'm sorry that you are having this problem with your new machine. Issues like this are why I recommend not switching manufacturers if the old machine is not giving issues.
Most folks can switch back and forth between manufacturers without any issues popping up. But some do. I've not seen this particular issue reported related to a PR to ResMed switch before.

Any chance of switching back?

What were your Flex exhale relief settings on the Respironics and what EPR settings are you using now on the ResMed?
