APAP BIPAP ASV

Post by forum33 » Wed May 29, 2019 4:28 am

I was for years with an APAP (Remstar Auto) but I need a new one.
In the past a study (I guess no very professional) give a "common" obstructive apnea diagnosis. I have CFS , diabetes, obesity ... to much to care about.
My doctor said that a simple CPAP would be enough, but I bought an APAP on my own.

To buy a new one a would like a better machine because Id got a bad sleep for years. I guess my apap it´s not working well and it didnt make any alarm sign or error code, but i guess is totally broken.

What are you suggestion. This is the suggestion of philips for example (image attached)

I guess BIPAP ASV can make everything for me, without a doctor seeing graphics. I ve got my Sleepyhead data anyway
Thank you very much

If you don't have *CENTRAL sleep apnea*, you don't need an AutoSV

A old and optimistic study (I ve got 55 lbs more) shows 16 obstructive 1 central. Probably irregular breath show my current apap

If you post a copy of your SleepyHead charts I'm sure you will get some opinions on what machine you should get. PaleRider is a little blunt, but he is absolutely correct, if you do not have Central Apneas you do not need an ASV machine.

One central noted on a sleep study is nothing and won't be nearly enough for a person to need ASV.

Plain regular APAP would work just fine unless someone develops a truckload of centrals after starting cpap/apap.
