Upcoming sleep study

Post by Tmi86 » Wed May 01, 2019 1:52 pm

Hello to all! I just scheduled my sleep lab study for this Sun. I have felt like death for the last 4 months and have seen more doctors than the law allows! Hoping that I will be feeling rested and more like me soon.

Interesting that a sleep study will be conducted on a weekend. I do hope the study goes as smooth as possible.

It's common. Otherwise, to work five days, the sleep technicians would have to work Friday nights. It's nice to know your work week is over on Friday morning instead of Saturday morning.

 there's clinics that run sleep tests five nights in a row? I'm pretty sure the one I got my study done at, only does it twice a week.

Let us know how it goes. Some things to think about as you pack... It's hard to know what the temperature will be like in a sleep lab, or if the rooms will be controlled on an individual or overall basis. Prepare according to your sleeping preferences. One problem I ran into was they had only lightweight hospital style blankets and I prefer some weight to my cover. Next time I was prepared to offset that with heavier PJs. If you sleep like a hotbox, take lightweight nightclothes or layers. If you need a fan to sleep, ask ahead of time if one will be available or if you should bring one. If you sleep best with a particular pillow, take it. There will be enough foreign sensations making it hard to sleep without adding unnecessary ones. Have fun!

They survive well, they have three locations that are privately owned and operated by the lead physician and a fourth location that is owned and operated by Sutter Health

Having labs that are only used two nights per week is not doing well.
