Basic idea of the article for falling asleep easily:
1. Get comfortable .
2. Relax face, eyes, tongue, jaw.
3. Let shoulders, arms, back of neck get heavy.
4. Take a deep breath and let it out slowly.
5. Take ten seconds to imagine lying on your back looking up at a blue sky from the bottom of a canoe on a calm lake on a warm spring day.
7. Then take ten seconds to imagine being in a big, black, velvet hammock where everything around you is blackness.
It apparently worked for some combat pilots who needed shut-eye in a hurry in stressful circumstances:
