How often does ResMed release new machines?

Post by raisedfist » Mon Apr 22, 2019 7:49 am

I searched online but couldn't seem to figure out when the S9 and the newer 10 series came out. As far as I know, the S9 VPAP Auto and the 10 VAuto work exactly the same. I wonder with the new series if there will be any changes beyond the design, to the algorithms or other settings themselves.

EDIT: It looks like the 10 series was released near the end of 2014.

The S9 was released sometime in 2010.

The 10 series may have been a big enough leap in design/form factor that it may be a bit longer I suppose

ResMed historically has kept any new models under development pretty close to the vest.
They won't tell anyone what they are working on and when it will be released. I assume they are always working on something because that's just the nature of the business....but what is anyone's guess.
When it might be released....again anyone's guess. Might be tomorrow...or next week or next month or even next year.
If rolling the dice based on past history....I would expect something this year....maybe.

First they have to train the supplier to build them. Jim

First they need to sell current inventory to unwitting DME's. (perhaps at a small discount)
--who will attempt to purge their warehouses before ordering the new models.
Best plan: have a backup--so you can wait as long as necessary to score a new rig.

For the longest lasting XPAPS buy the new old ones, mpdt ner products are cheaper made and will outlast the new product. If you must buy into new HYPE, give new products about a year or more to sort out the problems, let the Fool's test them first.

Point in fact, all mine are 14 years, one ran 14 years, and still works, my new one, the APAP version sat for 13 Years, is now purring away every night, number 3 is used and still works 14 years later. I don't have 10 graphs to obsess over just AHI and leak data, pressure, all I need. No need to sweat the small stuff, plenty of big stuff to worry about in our lives. Jim
