Cervical Collar Sizing?

Post by beautifuldreamer » Mon Apr 15, 2019 10:09 pm

I am trying to purchase a cervical collar to use while sleeping . . .

The first one I purchased from Amazon, was supposed to be for short necks, and supposedly 2.5" high (but in actuality is 3" high) and is 13" circumference - unfortunately it is non-refundable because it is considered a medical item. . .

My neck measures 2" high, and 14" circumference around my neck. I would like one made of cotton . . .

Any thoughts of what size and or brand to get? I hope this next one I purchase will be the correct size. I tried to see if I could buy one from Kaiser, and called several different departments, but nobody seems to know where I can buy one at Kaiser (although it is very easy to purchase ankle braces)-

Thank you very much :)

I would think large drugstores that carry medical 'devices' would have a selection to look at/try on, so might go there first rather than trying to fit things online. And where you measure your neck may not be where the official sizing does it.

Have had great success with the Dr. Dakota collar that LSAT mentions. 16" neck - use large size.

I found a medical store nearby that has 31 different cervical collars and I will check them out-
