APAP reservoir water is BLUE

Post by CPAPScott » Sat Apr 13, 2019 11:48 am

I'll start of saying I don't clean my equipment like I should. However, I do only use distilled water for use. That said, the reservoir, hose, filter, and mask are all less than 90 days old. I can't attest to this 100% because many times I fill my machine by cell phone light so as not to wake my wife...but, I'm fairly certain the water was fine one day, and the next it was tinted blue. It's possible it had a blue tint for the last few days, but I've seen it in daylight recently, and haven't noticed anything. What the ??

I did immediately empty out the reservoir, changed the filter, and cleaned out the reservoir, gasket, hose and mask, and let them dry overnight (didn't use the machine).

Any thoughts? Just too long without cleaning, and it said, "Enough"? Or, something else.

It appears that you reacted properly by cleaning the unit. Ask your wife if the blue tint was her joke. Where are you located? Environmental issue?

If it was April !st, I make a bet on the wife and food coloring, But I doubt it! The main thing dump, rinse and use fresh distilled water. Even distilled water can go bad over time, as no chlorine is added to keep things from growing in it. Jim
