We have just released a new software for the analysis of data obtained from a nocturnal pulse oximetry study to aid in the formation of a diagnosis of OSA or impact of CPAP treatment. I am writing in this forum to request feedback to help the development of the product further. We are currently making the solution available at no cost during this development and validation period. Your feedback would be invaluable.
The new software Etrending is a web based solution for the management and scoring of data derived from pulse oximeters. It was developed with the aid of experts in the respiratory field and published medical papers.
Please register at http://www.etrending.com to enter the service. You will need to update the version of Java on your computer to view the demo study and a couple of other applications on the New Study page to upload data. Etrending is currently only compatible with the Masimo Radical, Rad-8, Rad-9 and Nellcor’s N-395, N-595. We will be adding medical devices as requested.
Again, we can only develop this service in the right direction with the help of experts in the field, your feedback will be much appreciated.
Yours,

Wow, This is interesting. All the ideas discussed here at cpaptalk this year. It is great to see organisations providing this sort of extra facility to us cpapers.
The idea of using a web based system is great because the data can be viewed by the person whoose readings it is, from any browser.
Next thing is to look at the format of the data extracted.
Good luck with this project it has real merit.

Many thanks for the positive feedback.
Due to the way we designed the software it will be relatively easy to integrate any medical device. One module manages the translation from the manufactures proprietary format to the format that allows us to display the visual representation. This means that all we need is the data protocol from the manufacture to allow is to integrate a device. The only prerequisite is that the device can interface to a computer and that it has memory.
Thanks again.

I can supply you with raw data from an Ohmeda 3740 unit (I am assuming it will be similar to what they output in later models). I wrote my own program to parse it into excel csv format but am happy to help you out with the raw data should you want it.
PM me and provide an email address and I can send you 10 or 20 or so hyperlink dumps I have extracted from my machine. Can also send you the matching csv files after I converted the data.
The format is a very easy one to work with.

I will PM you regarding the data from the Ohmeda 3740.
What system do you use to view the data stored on your PB330 Knightstar.
I am looking at making it possible to upload data from a CPAP to etrending. The data would then be viewable online. The main advantage I see is that you could share the data immediately with the specialist who initially prescribed the treatment. This would have most impact on the new user as they establish their parameters, but could also be used to help optimize on a long term basis.
What do you think?
