Different AHI

Post by the baker » Sun Mar 17, 2019 6:34 am

I noticed on the data from my sleep test that there are 2 types of AHI

It shows an AHI of 10.8 and a REM AHI of 21.6

Does that mean I have more events during REM than non rem sleep

Yes.
Quite common for OSA to be worse during REM stage sleep.
I was 12 AHI in non REM but 53 AHI in REM.

That explains a lot...
My harshest wakeups with heavy breathing ( which didn't happen often). Were when I was dreaming, I would wake during dreams breathing heavy my heart pounding and my head pounding.. And it mostly happened in the second half of the night when dreaming is more prevalent..
