Cpap not working

Post by shossain3 » Wed Mar 13, 2019 1:01 pm

Hi,
I am a mild sleep apnea patient. Suffering from sleep apnea for 2.5 years. I tried cpap at the begining but it did not work for me. I mean i could tolerate but it do not remove the symptomps.

Then i went through 2 surgeries
1correction of deviated septum
2 uppp
Now i am better then before but problem is not going

I tried the cpap again but does not work. The doctors report from the center says it is working in pressure 13. Which mean i do not have any apnea at that pressure but my oxygen drops presents and it is up to 85.
The problem makes huge trouble with memory and concentration. Any one have any idea what can i do. What are the other procedures i can do.
Thanks in advance

First things first:

viewtopic/t172378/Sticky--Newbies-PLEAS ... STING.html

We need to know everything about your equipment, settings, how many hours of sleep, etc., etc.

So far you haven't given us any useful information........other than you got suckered into having UPPP surgeries, which often make the situation worse. It may show some improvement in the short run, but usually guarantees that the person will end up back on CPAP/Bi-Level therapy.......and often times at higher pressures.

When you say "did not work for me"..........what do you mean?

YOU need to take charge of YOUR therapy as soon as possible to be able to show improvements. Nobody is going to care about your therapy more than you do.
Hopefully you have a data-capable machine to be able to use software to monitor your progress.

If 13 is working but your oxygen is low..your doctor should have you add nightly oxygen.

Ummmm??
The doctors report from the center says it is working in pressure 13.
I'm guessing this result is from titration in a lab. We don't know whether CPAP is working at home. It's premature to jump to supplemental oxygen.

Has your doctor ordered a home pulse-oxygen study?

In which country are you located?

Please give us some more information, so that suggestions can be helpful to you.

Right now it is a bit like you have asked what is wrong with your car - we can't help until we have more information.

What machine do you have? It is important to specify the make (Respironics, Resmed, Fisher Paykel.....) and the model (S9, 10 Autoset...) If you are not sure, you should be able to find some writing on the machine somewhere.

Then you need to tell us what mask you have - again make and model - or some clues of what it is like.

Beyond that, people here can guide you in making changes so that you do begin to feel benefit from your CPAP.

It is worth the time and effort.
