Anyone out there try the panty hose trick with full face mask? I have to cinch the straps down painfully tight on the Ultra Mirage. Yes, I've read the posts that say you have to leave straps somewhat loose. WRONG for me. Leaks very badly unless very tight. The Activa works loose, but not my UMFF.
Anyone try Rested Gal Panty Hose idea on UMFF ?

I've never tried the "panty hose trick", but it seems that it might get in the way of the exhaust vent on the UMFF.mrammell wrote:Anyone out there try the panty hose trick with full face mask? Just a thought....
I've had a sore neck lately, and haven't found the UMFF as comfortable as it normally is, so last night I used my Activa for the first time in a couple of months.
Ahhh....... the pleasure of it all!

If you cut a hole in the panty hose, then put the hose through the hole, then tie it around your head, it should help. At least it's worth a try!

Panty hose
For some reason, I have trouble thinking about waking up with a pair of RG'S panty hose on my face.
And more trouble trying to explain it to my wife when she rolls over.
Damn, and I gotta go to bed thinking about this,
Talk about nightmares!!!

Geeze, with a topic subject line like that for all the world to see....!
Oh well. It's not like I haven't posted about "pantyhose" a few times. So that's ok, mrammell.
Biggest problem with using an extra strap of any kind around the front of an Ultra Mirage full face mask, or any nasal mask/FF mask for that matter, is keeping the homemade strap from sliding up or down out of place on the front of the slick plastic shell.
I read about a guy who used an old chin strap that way -- around the front of a UMFF and fastened behind his head. Also read about someone who used an ACE bandage. Seems that I've also read about sticking some adhesive backed velcro on the plastic front of the mask to help any homemade strap stay in place better.
Haven't had to try it with a UMFF mask, but that's probably what I'd do...stick some velcro on the front to give a bit of grip to whatever homemade strap I chose to put around the UMFF mask.
And yeah, I guess one of those infamous "legs" is what I'd reach for.
btw, it's "tights"...pantyhose tights..not regular pantyhose. "Tights" material works better as an extra strap.

Sorry Rested Gal :-)
Sorry Rested Gal about the Panty Hose Title. Guess I should call it the
"Rested Gal lower extremity stretch cover supplemental restraint system"
"Rested Gal lower extremity stretch cover supplemental restraint system"
I use RG's home style restraint system every night on my Comfortlite 2. I just wrap the restraint twice around the plastic tube right above the exhaust ports and then tie around the back of my head. There is a ridge there (where the simple cushion connects) so the restraint does not slip down over the exhaust port. Works great.
