I Did It Again!!

Post by elliejose » Sun Nov 19, 2006 11:50 am

I forgot to turn my heat on on my stand alone humidifier. I put the water in but always start with warm so I didn't notice it until I woke up miserable and sneezing to beat the band. Immediately put in more warm water and turned on the humidifier but 'twas too late. Now I am still miserable. This will last from 3 to 5 days. Seems as tho the sinuses would become acclimatized to the air and could tolerate some cool air after awhile. No such luck for me. I don't really know any remedy for this do y'all?
I keep thinking that I will get a surge protector with a switch so I can turn everything off and on at the same time and this would fix it.... so I may just have to go ahead and do that.

That sounds like the best plan to me. I am guessing that your sinuses do not wish to be de-humidified even a tiny bit!

If you had the surge supressor, that would avoid the problem.
Be kinder than necessary; everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Don't know about the Remstar M, but on my Remstar Auto if I turn the machine off for any reason, the heat to the humidifier is turned off as well -- and DOES NOT come back on when the APAP machine is restarted UNLESS I press the heat button again. I started out using the heat but kept forgetting to turn it back on after a bathroom break. So I eventually quit using the heat altogether.

The M series has a dial that allows you to pick the level of humidification. If I turn the unit off, and then back on, it comes on at the same level automatically. If it runs out of water, it blinks.
That's the good news.
The bad news is that I still can't fill the silly humidifier without pouring a good portion of the distilled water on me.
I need a square funnel.
