Amazing

Post by Mimmie » Sat Nov 18, 2006 9:56 am

Hi all. I have been slowly trying to tame the beast. As I wrote earlier, my ramp was at 4. When everyone told me to increase it, I did to 5. That still seemed to smother me so up it went to 6 and then 7. Still I was only able to tolerate the dang thing for about 1 to 2 hours before somehow I would wake the next morning to find it laying next to me. Last night I thought, what the heck and did not hit the ramp. I put the jellyfish on at full 13 blow and it took about 3 minutes for me to get a rhythm going with it that high. I am pleased to say that I woke up at 7 this morning. *doing the happy dance* With the jellyfish still ON. 5 hours of sleep. I am still amazed.

This whole thing is so hard for me. Not only because I hate the jellyfish but because it is so difficult for me with the deviated septum that has caused so much of an infection that I can't lay on my back to sleep. I get so dizzy that it makes me sick. So, I have to sleep on my side or the recliner.

I also have copd and asthma. I guess the lower pressure just wasn't giving me enough air for the asthma. *shrug*

By the way, there was another thread about whether you should empty your humidifier every day. I am not a doctor, but since I have lung problems I do know quite a bit about breathing problems. Not a good idea, for me anyway. I have to say that I am really amazed that they let us use distilled water even. I have to use bronco saline in my updraft machine because you are taking something directly into your lungs and just one little bacteria will pop me right back into the hospital...again. I suppose its whatever you feel comfortable with and willing to risk.

Mimmie,

Congrats on your success!
Another example of how we use the information people give us and sometimes use it as a guideline to find what works for our individual needs.

Bravo !! Sleeping is so nice...
