Leak problem or time for repair (Resmed Autoset Spirit)?

Post by Guest » Sun Nov 12, 2006 7:13 am

I have been using a Resmed Autoset Spirit for almost 4 years without any problem, except that my first unit was exchanged under warranty after a few hours for a noisy air pump.

Recently, my machine is showing the following error message all the time: "HIGH LEAK! adjust mask".

There is no evidence of any leaks and the machine still give me good and reliable service so far, except for the mask adjustment feature, that is always showing a bad adjustment, which is clearly not the case.

Anyone got the same message?

Is it time for pricey repair out of warranty?

Thanks!

Perhaps your hose has a puncture or leak? (And be sure to check the hose connector points for a tight fit. )

It is telling you there is an abnormal leak in the circuit. The "circuit" can be the coupler that goes between the machine air port and the humidifier tank, the hose could have a hole in it like from a cat or your mask is shot.

You could have also started mouth breathing which will report the same.

Could be nothing wrong with the machine, could even be the wrong mask selection selected on the machine.

As the prior posters have said, that message indicates that the airflow exceeds what the machine expects for that mask and tube.

The one time I saw a similar situation was that the owner of the machine had changed the settings & selected mirage mask when the actual mask was an Ultra Mirage F/F - this person kept getting that error message.

The one other issue for this person was that he had a beard (to compound matters).

When this machine was set for the correct mask & all fitted well it worked 100%.

However, it is possible there is some other problem we are not awrae of.

Good luck
